The professional SAFA Ramp Inspection Checklist app — built for business aviation pilots preparing for a Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft (SAFA) ramp inspection. Walk into any ramp inspection with total confidence.
Fly-Right was founded by veteran corporate aviation professionals who know firsthand the pressure of an unannounced SAFA ramp inspection. A Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft (SAFA) inspection can happen any time you cross a border into an EASA member state — and findings stay on your record.
Our SAFA Ramp Inspection Checklist app puts every required document, inspection item, and procedure at your fingertips, so you can prepare your aircraft and crew before the inspector even reaches the airstairs. Built specifically for the SAFA program, it covers all four ramp inspection sections — Flight Deck, Cabin Safety, Aircraft Exterior, and Cargo — plus general items, placards, and findings categories.
Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft (SAFA) inspectors examine everything — flight crew documentation, cabin safety equipment, exterior condition, and crew procedures. Our SAFA ramp inspection app covers all of it.
Built around the official Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft inspection items so nothing gets missed.
All flight deck, cabin, exterior, and cargo inspection items organized into clear, sequential sections.
No signal at a foreign FBO? No problem. The full checklist is available without an internet connection.
Snap photos of compliant items and finding areas. Build a defensible record for every inspection.
Add tail-specific notes and export polished PDF reports to share with your operator or DO.
Build a fully-documented inspection profile per tail number, then share it with crew, dispatch, or your DO with a single tap.
Store every supporting document the inspector might ask for — Letters of Authorization, Operational Specifications, insurance certificates, registration, airworthiness, noise certificates, or any custom category your operator chooses. All in one tap.
Professional pilot tools built right into the app — no extra subscription, no second app to open.
Track flight duty period, required rest, and legality at a glance. Quickly verify that the next leg is within limits before you accept it — no spreadsheets, no mental math at 2 a.m.
Convert hours and minutes to the tenth of an hour — exactly the format your logbook and maintenance flight log require. No more mental math: enter 1:24 and get 1.4 instantly, ready to write down or paste into your records.
Estimate the CO₂ footprint of any leg in seconds. Enter the aircraft type and trip distance (or block fuel) and get instant emission totals — perfect for sustainability reporting, client transparency, and tracking offset purchases for corporate ESG programs.
Built-in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) support: enter the SAF blend percentage on board and the calculator automatically reduces the trip's lifecycle CO₂ accordingly. SAF is a drop-in jet fuel produced from non-petroleum feedstocks (used cooking oil, agricultural residues, municipal waste, and synthetic e-fuels) that can cut lifecycle emissions by up to 80% compared to conventional Jet-A. Show clients and stakeholders the exact emissions savings each SAF uplift delivers — leg by leg, tail by tail.
Convert the units pilots actually use: pounds ⇄ kilograms (fuel and weight), gallons ⇄ liters, nautical miles ⇄ statute miles ⇄ kilometers, feet ⇄ meters, inches of mercury ⇄ hectopascals, and °F ⇄ °C. One tap, no Googling, no errors at the FBO fuel desk.

A quick primer on the Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft program — and why every business aviation pilot needs to be SAFA-ready.
SAFA is a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) program of unannounced ramp inspections of third-country aircraft and crews at airports in EASA member states. The program assesses compliance with ICAO standards using a standardized checklist.
A SAFA ramp inspection covers four areas of the aircraft and crew: A — Flight Deck, B — Cabin Safety, C — Aircraft Exterior, and D — Cargo, plus a General section. The Fly-Right app mirrors this structure exactly.
SAFA findings are graded as Category 1 (Minor), Category 2 (Significant), or Category 3 (Major). Major findings can ground an aircraft. The app provides quick reference for AMM/SRM dispatch-limits handling so you know exactly how to respond.
Any non-EASA aircraft operating into an EASA member state can be selected for a SAFA ramp inspection — Part 91, Part 135, fractional, charter, or commercial. Inspections are random and unannounced. Preparation is the only defense.
A SAFA ramp inspector may ask for far more than the inspection checklist itself. The Fly-Right app includes a customizable Appendix where you can store every supporting document — Letters of Authorization (LOA), Operational Specifications (OpSpecs), insurance certificates, certificate of registration, certificate of airworthiness, noise certificates, RVSM/MNPS authorizations, MEL, and any additional category your operator defines. Documents stay on the device, are accessible offline, and travel with the aircraft profile so the right paperwork is always one tap away.
The SAFA Inspection Checklist is a preparation and reference tool only. It does not replace official EASA documentation, your operator's approved procedures, the aircraft flight manual, or the judgment of a qualified pilot in command. Use of the App does not guarantee a successful ramp inspection, regulatory compliance, or any particular outcome. Always defer to current regulations and the authority having jurisdiction.

We got ramp checked in Geneva last winter and the inspector found nothing. The app walked us through every item the night before — it's now standard procedure for our flight department.
