This Cookie Policy explains how Fly-Right ("we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on flyright.app (the "Site"). It supplements our Privacy Policy. Please read both documents to understand how we collect and use information about you. This Policy is designed to comply with the EU ePrivacy Directive ("the Cookie Law"), GDPR, the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), the CCPA/CPRA, and other applicable laws.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owners. Cookies set by the website owner are called "first-party cookies." Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called "third-party cookies." Cookies can be "session cookies" (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent cookies" (which remain until they expire or you delete them).
2. Types of Cookies We Use
We classify cookies into the following categories:
- Strictly necessary cookies — required for the Site to function (for example, to remember your cookie preferences and to maintain a session). These cannot be switched off.
- Performance & analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors interact with the Site by collecting and reporting information anonymously or in aggregate.
- Functional cookies — enable enhanced functionality, such as remembering your preferred language or region.
- Targeting / advertising cookies — we do not currently use targeting or advertising cookies.
3. Cookies in Detail
The table below lists the cookies we currently use. We will update this list as we add or remove cookies.
| Cookie Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| flyright_session | flyright.app | Maintains your authenticated session. | Strictly necessary | Session |
| flyright_consent | flyright.app | Stores your cookie-consent choices. | Strictly necessary | 12 months |
| flyright_csrf | flyright.app | Protects against cross-site request forgery. | Strictly necessary | Session |
| _fr_pref | flyright.app | Remembers display preferences (e.g., light/dark). | Functional | 12 months |
| _pa_session_id | Plausible (privacy-respecting analytics) | Aggregated visitor counting; no cross-site tracking. | Performance | 30 minutes |
4. Third-Party Cookies
The Site uses one third-party analytics provider (Plausible Analytics) that does not use cross-site tracking and does not collect personal data. We do not embed advertising networks, social-media trackers, or fingerprinting scripts. If we add third-party cookies in the future, we will update this Policy and seek your consent where required.
5. Similar Technologies
In addition to cookies we may use:
- Local storage / IndexedDB — to cache the Site's interface for faster loading.
- Pixel tags — small invisible images used to measure email open rates for transactional and opted-in marketing emails.
- Mobile identifiers — within the App, we use a randomly generated installation ID. We do not use Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), and we do not request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission because we do not perform cross-app tracking.
6. Your Consent & Preferences
When you first visit the Site from a region requiring opt-in consent (such as the EEA, UK, or Brazil), a banner asks for your preferences. Strictly necessary cookies are placed without consent because they are required for the Site to function. All other cookies are placed only after you opt in.
You can change your preferences at any time by clicking "Cookie Settings" in the Site footer or by clearing the cookie named flyright_consent in your browser.
7. How to Manage Cookies
You can also manage cookies directly in your browser. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, or warn you before storing them. Refer to your browser's documentation:
Please note that if you disable strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Site may not work correctly.
8. Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control
We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as opt-out preference signals in jurisdictions where this is legally required. Because there is no consensus standard for Do Not Track (DNT), the Site does not currently respond to DNT headers.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when this Policy was last revised.
